A U-M tradition for more than 40 years, the Halloween Concert brings together the University Symphony and Philharmonia Orchestras for this beloved holiday event. Graduate conducting students lead more than 125 costumed musicians for this entertaining concert featuring thrilling, popular, and spooky symphonic Halloween favorites. Get out your scariest costume or come dressed as you are to enjoy this chilling event.

Concert Band Method Book Information 2021-2022

6th Grade Concert Band will be using Essential Elements Book 1 (yellow).
7th Grade Concert Band will be using Essential Elements Book 2 (red).
8th Grade Concert Band will be using Standard of Excellence Enhanced Book 2 (blue).

Recommended LYRE and FOLIO for each instrument - these can be purchased at any music store:

	Flute = Flutist's Friend Flute players do not need a lyre as this will not attach to your instrument but will strap on your arm.
	Clarinet = Clarinet Lyre and Folio Clarinet players attach this lyre to the middle ring between the upper and lower portions of the instrument.
	Saxophones = Sax Lyre and Folio Saxophone players will attach this lyre to the holder just below the neck of the instrument.
	Trumpet and Trombone = Clip-On Folio Trumpet and Trombone players can use this clip-on folio without a lyre - it attaches right on the bell of the instrument.
Folio = basically a marching flip folder that holds your music.
